Our veterinarians at Colonial Park Animal Clinic offer routine wellness and preventive care services for your bird or other exotic pet. We also treat exotic pets with medical or behavioral concerns.
- Wellness & Preventive Care
Just like cats and dogs, birds and other exotic pets live long, happy and healthy lives. Our trained veterinarians provide care and look after veterinary treatment and husbandry needs of these species.
During your pet's first wellness visit, we will review your pet's care, housing and nutritional needs in detail. The vet will perform a complete and thorough physical exam, then discuss and recommend vaccines and health screening tests, in addition to behavior or health concerns and any husbandry issues. We can also answer any questions you may have. Recommendations will be tailored to your pet's needs, while considering your circumstances.
- Sick Pet Appointments & Daytime Emergencies
Some of our veterinarians offer limited care for pocket pets, owned birds and select reptile species. Our doctors are able to see exotic breeds for preventative physical exams as well as minor illnesses or injuries. Please call our office to discuss your pet’s needs and scheduling availability. There may be some instances where your pet may benefit from seeing an avian or exotic specialist. Please note that exotic patients are scheduled for longer time blocks, warranting an increased examination fee.
- After Hours Emergencies
Our clinic is equipped to handle medical needs for select illnesses or injuries for exotic patients. Please note that we do not currently have an avian or exotic specialist on our staff. In cases where your pet requires specialty care, we can provide records and recommendations for further assistance.
